Penang, A Beautiful Beach In Malaysia

1 comment fahmi — November 7, 2009 / 10:44 pm

Malaysia has many beaches, beautiful beaches which deserve and worthed enough to be visited. Penang is one of those beautiful beaches. Located in West of Malaysia, Penang has been changed into a must visited destination since there are many accomodations and infra structure that support the tourists acitivies.

Many traditional buildings were restored, so we can feel the old times. The culture was also conserved in order to support the atmosphere of colonial period.

The room is quite cheap, it’s only about US$5/day for a 5 stars hotel. The food is also cheap, grouped into some categories based on the country/taste, such as Chinese food, India food, and Melayu food.

Hmmm…seems interesting to be visited, someday. ;-)

This can be happened, since the promotion about Bali is quite frequent in China. Soon or later, this promotion made many Chinese tourists attract and try to find out why Bali is so special. So, they choose Bali as their destination for their vacation.

Well, there is no wonder why Bali can attract many Chinese tourists. Destination, culture, beach (and the sand) can hypnotize every tourists who had visited.

So, how about you? Have you ever visit Bali?

Malaysian Tourists And Indonesia

1 comment fahmi — November 2, 2009 / 3:18 pm

Maybe most of us know that Malaysia is one of Indonesia’s competitor to attract tourists to their own countries. The competition is happening in many areas, such as destinations, culiners, cultures, and many more. Sometimes competition spirit is touch the nationality, especially for Indonesian people. Some cases made Indonesian people did some demonstrations for Malaysia’s claim to some traditional cultures.

Many Indonesian came to Malaysia, as tourists, for many reasons. Shopping and culiner can be the main factor why they came to Malaysia.

But, actually there are Malaysian tourists visit Indonesia. I read from here, Malaysia tourists number is increasing about 9.60%. On Januari-Agustus 2008 there were 460,268 Malaysian tourists, meanwhile this year the number ’said’ 504,449.

So, the rivality between those 2 countries not (quite) affect with the tourism. :-)

Pangandaran is Getting Closer

2 comments indra — October 17, 2009 / 1:43 am

Pangandaran is a famous tourist attraction, located at the south-east end of West Java province, Indonesia. Its beaches are reputably the best and finest in Java island, and also offer excellent surfing. Other than its fine beaches, Pangandaran also offer a beautiful national park and its own version of green canyon.

However, its location at the southern regency of Ciamis in West Java makes Pangandaran not really appealing to Jakarta and Bandung tourists, let alone foreign tourists. By road, it takes around 5-6 hours to reach Pangandaran from Bandung, the capital city of West Java province, and it takes around 7-8 hours to reach Pangandaran from Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia, by road.

Fortunately, there is now a faster alternative to reach Pangandaran, which is via air. Susi Air, an airline previously specialised in chartered services, has started scheduled services from Jakarta and Bandung to Pangandaran. This will cut down the travel time between Jakarta and Pangandaran to only one hour. It will operate a Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft with a capacity of 12 passengers to service the Jakarta-Pangandaran route twice a day, one direct flight and another one with a stopover in Bandung.

The flight from Jakarta will depart from Halim Perdanakusuma airport, located east of the city and closer to the city centre compared to Soekarno-Hatta International airport.

How Malaysia Work On Indonesia Tourists?

2 comments fahmi — August 26, 2009 / 8:45 pm

Menara Kembar MalaysiaDo you know, Malaysia had taken serious action to work on Indonesia tourists since 2003?

On that year, it was about 1 million Indonesia tourists came to Malaysia, for enjoying Malaysia exotic cuisine and shopping. Then Malaysia government gave target to Malaysia Tourism Board for inviting (at least) 3 million Indonesia tourists/year.

The interesting thing is MTB took many aggresive approaching to many persons that related or can connect with Indonesia tourists. At least banking sector and airlines were involved for funding and providing many accomodations.

MTB made some tricks for bring about many Indonesia tourists, especially who has shopping maniac. Providing package “buy one get one free”, it became a good start for Malaysia.

And right now, “Truly Asia” became an icon for Malaysia. Unfortunately, many claims were made by Malaysia to support “Truly Asia”, including claiming Pendet Bali.
