Malaysia is now developing its tourism. The Prime Minister of Malaysia launched the motto “Visit Malaysia Year 2007″. The main mission is to promote Malaysia as an international outstanding tourist destination and to make tourism industry as a major contributor to the sosio-economic development of the nation.
When visiting Qatar, Minister of Tourism Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said that his country attracted an astounding 17.54 million people at 2006, which is a 6.8 per cent growth compared to 2005. This year, it poised to top that with 20.1 million visitors with a focused and intensified tourism strategy that involves all stakeholders.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association or PATA reports that Malaysia was expected to reap the benefit about $11 billion. Right after China and Thailand.
