fahmi — July 28, 2007 / 6:10 pm

Islamabad is well known as capital city of Pakistan. Recently, there was a chaos happened there, on a ‘Red Mosque’. Well, actually I don’t want to talk about the chaos but the beauty which is hidden on that city.

There are many beautiful parks and gardens in Islamabad. Some of them are must be visited, such as: Rose and Jasmine Garden The garden is about 20,360 sq. meters, has about 250 different varieties of roses as well as a dozen types of Jasmines. In this garden, flower shows are occasionally held, particularly during spring (March - June).

Shakarparian Hills We can find Shakarparian hills location near Zero Point, at a height of 609 meters. In Indonesia, we can compare it with Bandung. This hills have terraced garden which offers pleasant and sweeping vistas of Margallah and Murree hills, Rawal Lake, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Don’t miss this place if you go to Islamabad.

Daman-e-Koh This place offers beautiful panoramic view of Islamabad. It has snack bar facilities which available at PTDC’s Daman-e-Koh Restaurant. The place is ideal for afternoon and evening outing with family and friends.

Murghzar Mini Zoo and Children’s Park This zoo is located at the foot of Daman-e-Koh viewpoint.

Chattar Bagh (Park) Nestling at the base of Murree hills at a distance of 15 km on Islamabad-Murree road, TDCP Chattar Bagh recreational facility provides a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of the twin cities. Scenic walks, gently flowing stream, waterfall and the surrounding hillside are a perfect attraction. The resort has a restaurant, barbecue and two air-conditioned tourist cottages.
