Maybe most of us know that Malaysia is one of Indonesia’s competitor to attract tourists to their own countries. The competition is happening in many areas, such as destinations, culiners, cultures, and many more. Sometimes competition spirit is touch the nationality, especially for Indonesian people. Some cases made Indonesian people did some demonstrations for Malaysia’s claim to some traditional cultures.
Many Indonesian came to Malaysia, as tourists, for many reasons. Shopping and culiner can be the main factor why they came to Malaysia.
But, actually there are Malaysian tourists visit Indonesia. I read from here, Malaysia tourists number is increasing about 9.60%. On Januari-Agustus 2008 there were 460,268 Malaysian tourists, meanwhile this year the number ’said’ 504,449.
So, the rivality between those 2 countries not (quite) affect with the tourism. :-)
