You're here: My Travel Blogging » Bali » Article: Russian Tourist & Bali
Recently, Russian tourists who visit Bali are increasing quite significant. As we know, Russia climate is snowy almost every month even in the summer. So, we can understand why many Russian tourist come to Bali since they want to relax and sunbathing in Bali beach.
The problem is there is a small number of guide that can speak Russian. From about 7039 certified guides, only 41 guides who can speak or understand Russian. Therefore, the large number of guides can speak English and Japanese fluently. They are 2586 English guides and 2160 Japanese guides.
As I mention above, the Russian tourists have a good prospect. Some data from Bali Tourists Office said the Russian tourists are increasing about 64,5% in 2007, compared with 2006. It means, on 2006 there are 19.000 Russian tourists came to Bali and on 2007 the number is becoming 31.267 tourists.
So, I’m sure this situation can be optimized by college student who learn Russian. I think the competition of Russian guides is not as competitive as English guides or Japanese guides.
Anybody interest to take advantage from this situation? Don’t wait! Learn Russian and take this opportunity! the pic is taken from here

“Russia climate is snowy almost every month even in the summer.”
A-ha-ha……you know nothing about Russia….
We have about 1-4 snowy months a year depending on the region, and very warm summer months.
We just like to travel a lot.

You re right about the lack of Russian guide in Bali, wrong about weather as most of Russia is in north Hemisphere and it get cold in winter(Christmas season).
There s a new media to give info and tips about Bali to R. tourist, and who try to make them feel safe, even they don t speak English or indonesian. It’ a bilingual magazine called “Discover Bali”, monthly distributed to the tourist through tour operators and hotels. As new, it want to improve in its understanding of the R. tourist, about what they expect and need to find in a Russian written media about Bali.
Please feel free to be in touch with me and bring some input. Spassiba
