Bali Hindunese Celebrated Tumpek Landep

Yesterday, Bali Hindunese celebrated Tumpek Landep, a holly sacrifice to any tools that were made from iron, silver, copper, such as keris (a traditional weapon from Indonesia), and many relics. The ceremony was using flower combined with fruits to complete the ritual.

Usually this ritual was held in each home, since each home has the metal tools such as motorcycle, machine, or others. It was happened since the morning until afternoon.

Those rituals have purpose to ask the safety to God. Drs I Ketut Sumadi M.Par, a chief of Hindu institute, said the Shiva God is the God that has power to destruct. Usually the ritual was held each 210 days.

On that day, every metal tools was equipped by ornament and “sesajen” were made from young coconut leaf, that were called “ceniga”, “sampian gangtung”, and “tamiang”.
