Well, the title doesn’t mean a tourist does a criminal thing. But recently, many tourists had been criminilized, such as “jambret” (well, i’m not sure about the English term, so I still use the origin one) and stealing.
At least 3 tourists were being “jambret” and stolen in 3 different places. John Malcolmbucher from Australia, Laila Mehdi from Holland, and Hannes Bublitz from German got their nightmare, being a victim for a criminal action. Some money and stuffs were missing and I think their loss is quite significant.
The most important thing is the police department, especially Bali police department, must increase their supervision and control in some public area, especially if there are many tourists. Because security is the most important thing for Bali and many destinations. Once a tourist feel not comfort with the existing security, I believe he/she doesn’t want to visit in the future.
Denpasar Chief Head Officer, Suwetra, promises to investigate and try to solve this problems.
