On Sunday, March 9 2008, 2 touring railways were released in Monas in order to help visitors, especially the disabled persons, oldsters, kids, and anyone who need. The ceremony was held on 10 am and some government officials were coming, such as Head of Culture and Museum, Head of Transportation.
Governor of DKI, Fauzi Bowo, said this railway is provided for Monas’ visitors, free. He also said, this railway will be operated from 08.15 - 17.30 WIB. Since the railway is limited, the governor hoped the health visitor take a walk rather than use the railway.
The railways have capacity for 36 persons, with it’s dimension is 4 metres long, wide is about 1.7 metres, and height 2 metres. The government needs more than Rp 800 juta (about US$ 80,000) to provide and setting up the railway.
I hope this railway can be maintained well, not only by the government but also by the visitors. the pic is taken from a newspaper
