Gunung Kawi is well known as a mystic mountain. A lot of people try to find welfare by helping of dukun (saman). Actually, gunung Kawi has a tourism potential. Hiking is one of potential, but since Lapindo disaster happened, this activity is decreasing.
So, to keep gunung Kawi as a tourism destination, many efforts had been done. Finding an alternative tourism activity is one of those efforts. Some people mention agrowisata, gardens, and build hotels and resorts as the solution.
Candrajana, Chief of Yayasan Ngesti Gondo, said the visitor of Gunung Kawi is about 50,000 - 100,000 person, before Lapindo disaster happened. But now, maximum only 700 person a day, it is decreasing one third.
