On Indonesian Independent Day, many attractions and competitions were held. You can name those as “Lomba Panjat Pinang”, “Lomba Balap Karung”, “Lomba Makan Krupuk”, and many more, depend on the location and the creativity of the committee.
One of the attractive attraction is carnival. In this article, I will write about carnival that was held in Lembang, Bandung, West Java.
As it’s name, carnival, many people try to show anything, from copycat the profesions such as doctors, lawyers, armies, or wearing Indonesian traditional clothes, from Java, Balinese, Aceh, and many more.
But, in Lembang carnival which was held annually, you can find more. Such as the pic in the left, some creative people made an imitation of a tank. Well, maybe he used to be want to be an army, but rejected, so he made a ‘tank’ and play with it to fulfill his obsession, hihihih..
The carnival began on 2pm, but the preparation and the defile can be seen since 11 am. Many people tried to see the defile in close range, so no wonder if you see the crowd of people in the area.
The participants came from Lembang. People and students which live around Lembang, try to participate and succeed this event. You can see, those children try to imitate a marching band. Well, even just a copycat, they were so serious to play.
Hmmm….nice event, maybe Lembang (or Bandung) government can take benefit and make this event to attract tourists. the idea and pic were taken from here
