One of best destinations in West Java is Ciwidey, South of Bandung. I had visited there, once in the middle of 90, when Bandung is still cool (not like today, the weather is getting hot).
You can reach the place by public transportation (bus or private car) from Bandung (Leuwi Panjang terminal) to Ciwidey. It takes about 1.5 - 3 hours (depend on the traffic). It costs about (maximum) Rp 5,000 - Rp 15,000 (US$ 0.5 - 1.5).
Ciwidey has many attractive places, such as:
The hottest place (in my opinion) in Rancaupas is Situ Patenggang. You can see the beauty of Situ Patenggang in left pic (I took from here).
