Jambi Governor, H Zulkifli Nurdin, officially cancel the Visit Jambi Year 2009 because the preparation is not enough to, both infrastructures or the facilities. He also had read a report from Tourism and Culture Division, and his conclusion is the report is not rasional enough.
One part of the ‘irrasional’ thing in the report is about the abroad tourists. In the report, it was written more than 700,000 abroad tourist had been visited Jambi on 2008. The governor asked with those 700,000 tourists, he said he never found ‘bule’ tourists in Jambi.
Jambi must prepare infrastructures and facilities better, if the program is still worth enough to be done. Especially the ark, historical relic, and any destinations, they must be repaired. One relic that must be repaired and restored is Muarojambi temple.
So, after the infrastructures and facilities are ready, the promotion can be executed. Otherwise, the tourists will not come and Jambi will be forgetten as the destination since it can’t provide good accomodations.
