DKI Jakarta Tourism and Culture Official (DKI Jakarta TCO) has a plan to develop some destination around Jakarta. From here, we can find out those 3 destinations. They are Kota Tua (Old City), Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Island), and Perkambungan Budaya Betawi (Betawi Culture Village) Setubabakan.
Some investors are needed to develop those destinations since the official doesn’t have enough budget to develop those destinations. So, there will be some collaboration with some privates even I’m not sure what kind of collaboration that will be deal of.
Right now, DKI Jakarta TCO restored some historical buildings and destinations in order to attract more tourism come. The budget for restore activities is quite huge since the tourist traffic is decreasing, so DKI Jakarta Gov really tried so hard to attract more tourisms.
This year, DKI Jakarta TOC has a target to attract 20 million domestic tourism and 1.7 million abroad tourism.
Hope the target is fullfiled. :-)
