Sarbini, as Chief of Forum Silaturahmi Insan Pariwisata (Tourism Goodwill Forum), said the long holiday is very good for tourism, especially in the rural and local area, since many tourists (especially domestic tourists) will come and visit many destinations during that day.
He also said, the destination management officers (and local government) should pay attention for this pattern, so the tourists will get a better service during their vacation.
Some destinations in Central Java and Yogyakarta are quite interesting to be visited such as Karts in Kabupaten Gunungkidul, white sand beach in South of Gunungkidul, Mataram King Grave in Imogiri Kabupaten Bantul, Glagah beach in Kabupaten Kulonprogo, and some museums in Yogyakarta.
Sarbini has opinion, domestic tourists can’t be underestimated, since we can’t depend on foreign tourists since there is a global finance crisis.
