On his speech, President ask the citizen and local government to promote Bali using this festival. Well, since Bali is quite famous, I think it’s not hard for local government to attract more tourists to visit Bali.
There are many attractions during festival. From some information, there are about 22 region from Indonesia will participate on this festival.

Garuda Indonesia re-open flight Nagoya-Bali, since there are many business prospects such as tourism or export-import trading. Of course, those prospects must be managed properly before they were launched as a product that will be offered to the customers. Export-import trading that can be done such as art (hand made), furniture, souvenir, and many more.

Right now, the flight is open for 3 times a week. It means, more than 15 thousands tourists can be accomodated. This number can be reached whether each time flight, it is full booked.
Previously, the flight was closed on 2005.
Well, I hope each country and region can take advantages from this re-open flight.

Finalist of Miss Indonesia 2008 will receive graduate scholarship on Economics from Universitas Indonesia, if they pass the selection. DR. BRA Mooryati Soedibyo, founder of Yayasan Puteri Indonesia (Miss Indonesia Foundation), said the offering of scholarship is the difference betweeh Miss Indonesia contest with other contests.
Well, this is about image. As we know, most of Indonesian people think the beauty contest is a useless thing, since the perticipants were only perform their (physical) beauty whereas the physical beauty can’t guarantee the owner has a good attitude or skill or brain.
About 38 finalists of Miss Indonesia 2008 will take the selection on August 5 - 15 2008. Only the best 3 will be chosen. The result will be announced in the same day with the final of this contest, on August 15 2008.
Hmmm…good method to increase the popularity and the image of this beauty contest.

Couple days ago, an event was held in Prague. On this event, “Opera Jawa”, a film which was starred by some Indonesian artists such as Artika Sari Dewi, Martinus Miroto and Retno Maruti, was showed. The audiences impressed with the film, since they were waiting it for long time.
After the movie, the event was continued discussing about the movie.
On the event, some socialites came, such as Professor Zorica Dubovska, expert about Indonesia (some news said he will receive an award from Indonesian government), Iva Grasskopfova, a journalist from Ceko TV. Both of them appreciate about the film.
Well, another promotion about Indonesia was held…hope more tourists from Ceko will visit Indonesia this year.

I think Bengkulu is almost forgotten as a tourism region whereas there are many tourism potential locations such as the beaches, jungles, historical places, and many floras. The ironic thing is this potencies were found by Singapore Ambassador, Ashok Mirpuri.
He said Bengkulu has many marvelous places to be visited and he also said those potencies can attract many tourists, not only from Singapore but also from other countries. Of course, those tourists will come if the destinations were quite attractive and provide good accomodations.
Following his statement, Singapore is ready to do some cooperations with local government, if it’s needed, to develop those potential destinations. Well, actually there is an internal bounding between Singapore and Bengkulu since colonization period. From history, we read Deutsch did an exchange with Great Britain. Bengkulu was exchanged with Singapore.
From statistic, only about 8,000 tourists came to Bengkulu last year. About 7,500 tourists is domestic tourist and the rest is abroad tourists. Target for this year, more than 10,000 tourists come to Bengkulu. In average, it’s about 30% increment.
Sadly, the promo for Bengkulu destinations, as I mentioned above, were quite a little. I doubt the target can be fulfilled if the local government does nothing to develop and to manage the potency.
We’ll wait and see. the pic was taken from here

Kutai has quite big national park, since there is 198,000 hectare area that is enrich not only by various and uniques plants but also rare animals, such as orangutan (Pongo satyrus), owa kalimantan (Hylobates muelleri), bekantan (Nasalis larvatus), kera ekor panjang (Macaca fascicularis fascicularis), beruk (M. nemestrina nemestrina), and kukang (Nyticebus coucang borneanus).
But recently, the condition of this national park is very afflicted, because the local citizen destroy it, by wild deforestation and burn the forest. This action couldn’t be handled by the officers, since there is only limited officers work there.
The effect of this deforestation is many animals loiter from the forest and take foods from local house.
I hope the local government can do some assertive actions to prevent the wider of damage.
